Leah J. Szlatenyi, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA, MSPFP, MST

Ms. Szlatenyi is a Partner and Director of Bentley Consulting Group, LLC. She concentrates in the areas of business valuation, litigation support, cost segregation studies and R&D tax credit studies. Her experience includes the manufacturing, fabrication, real estate, property management, educational, retail and professional services industries.


She received an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Bryant University; a Masters of Science in Personal Financial Planning, high distinction, from Bentley College; and a Masters of Science in Taxation degree from Bryant University. Leah is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island; a Trustee for the Town of East Greenwich Municipal Land Trust; an active volunteer for The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island; and the former Treasurer of Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island. Ms. Szlatenyi is also a former member of Leadership Rhode Island, serving on their Finance Committe and a regular guest on NBC affiliate television station, WJAR 10.


Leah is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants,  The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Business Valuation Committee of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants.

John is the Managing Partner of Bentley Consulting Group, LLC and has over 30 years of experience concentrating in taxation and business advisory services for closely held companies and high net worth individuals. Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he has specialized in business valuations and litigation support services for the past twenty-three years.

 

John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Business Appraisers. He has been active on numerous boards and is presently a member of the University of Rhode Island College of Business Administration's Advisory Council, a Trustee for the University of Rhode Island Foundation, Board member for the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, past Chair of the organization's Business Valuation Committee and a past Vice Chairman for the Town of South Kingstown Economic Development Committee.

Partner of an accounting firm in Warwick RI, Bill has spent almost 30 years servicing a diverse clientele in all aspects of tax, financial reporting, business and strategic consulting. He has served on numerous AICPA committees including the Managing an Accounting Practice (MAP) Committee, the Small Firm Advocacy Committee and currently serves on the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) Executive Committee. He was also a member of the prestigious Group of 100 Strategic Planning Committee, a member of the AICPA Governing Council and the Practitioner’s Symposium Steering Committee and a Practice Management Panel Member for The Journal of Accountancy.

 

Bill is a past President of the Rhode Island Society of CPA’s with over 10 years in various board and committee level positions. Bill is a local and national speaker on trends in accounting and firm management, with writing credits including the “Strategic Practice Alliances” chapter in the MAP Handbook, “Consolidation and the Small Firm” and “Closing Your Door to Bad Clients” both published in the Practicing CPA. Bill was also on the editorial committee and DVD participant for “Securing the Future, Building a Succession Plan for Your Firm”, written by Bill Reeb.

Bill is Marketing Consultant for Bentley Consulting Group with 30+ years experience in strategic planning and marketing. As agency principal for a leading High-Tech Marketing Communications and Public Relations agency he helped launch dozens of companies and products.

 

Bill was also Vice President of Marketing for a $40 million computer-based process control systems manufacturer and has managed independent and distributor sales forces. He has served as Marketing Communications Manager for a Fortune 100 specialty and consumer products company. Author of numerous articles and seminars on marketing, positioning and communications, Bill is a regular business commentator on a regional NBC television affiliate.
